Printing on carpet can be done in serval ways. One of the oldest ways that is still used today is rotational printing. Printing carpet this way is a low cost method for printing on carpet but designs always have a repeat every x cm. Typically this reapeat every 2 of 3 foot.

Several years ago printing on carpet using chromojet was introduced. This technique is like a big inkjet printer but that designed for printing on carpet. The resolution that chromojet offers is limited but printing carpets using chromojet will allow the dye to penetrate deep into the carpet pile.

Screen Printing is yet another way to print on carpet but mainly used for printing on mats.

The latest way for printing on carpets is using digital inkjet printing that enables printing carpets full colour and very detailed. The only downside for printing carpets this way is that penetration is limited.
